The pandemic grinds on and so does “temporary” free hospital parking in BC. As we await the return to normal times, it’s not clear if the campaign will be on the Health Minister’s radar given the shear amount of damage inflicted by the pandemic and the rebuilding of the healthcare infrastructure that will surely follow. Our groups activities remain on hold as we have no desire to divert the governments attention to non-medical/pandemic issues. Fixing hospital parking methods is still very important to most British Columbians, but it must continue to take a back seat for the moment.
The people behind this campaign are committed to hospital parking reform. It is likely that a new Health Minister will have to be installed before any significant change to pay parking can be expected. Disappointingly, Adrian Dix has shown little interest in reform and that was long before Covid19.
As we await the new lay-of-the-land of provincial healthcare priorities, we encourage the public to use the materials on this website to learn more about hospital pay parking and understand why it must be reformed to a system that works for everyone and exploits nobody.
